Part-Time Lead and Co-Lead Teachers

Description

NEED A PART-TIME JOB? Do you enjoy working with kids, making creative projects, programming robots or video games, and having an overall good time and getting paid to do it? Well, EFK is the place for you! This is a great chance to get a part-time job with teaching experience. We're getting ready for the next school year, so we will be looking for applicants who can be available for our after school and evening programs this fall!

Classes are student-directed and your role as the teacher is to provide direct instruction when necessary, but the majority of your time is spent coaching students in their inquiry. Lesson plans, supplies and training materials are provided with some individualized training offered.

The expectation is to follow the provided curriculum as provided to the best of your ability and engage the students in a guided learning environment.

This IS a true teaching opportunity, using inquiry and project based teaching methods with your class of students!

You don't need a background in engineering, as these are basic concepts we are exposing this age group too.

You don't need a teacher's certificate, although classroom management skills are a MUST!

Shifts are assigned by employee preference (location & days)
Mileage reimbursement may be available.

Requirements


Example school year schedule (minimum commitment):

September thru 2nd week of December
Every Tuesday (School A) 2:30PM-4:00PM and
Every Wednesday (School B) 2:00PM-4:30PM

Pay

Consideration taken for experience and certifications:
  • All classes, camps and workshops are a fixed amount based on class time plus 30 minutes setup and 30 minutes cleanup and pay range equates to approximately $15-$20 per hour.
  • Birthday and special parties are caluclated the same with only 15 minutes setup and 15 miuntes cleanup allowed depending on any extras requested by the customer


  • Part-Time Teacher Assistants

We're getting ready for the next school year, so we will be looking for applicants who can be available for our after school and evening programs this fall!

    Classes are student-directed and your role as the assistant is to provide additional classroom management support by performing tasks as directed by the lead instructor and to assist students having trouble performing tasks or other issues to allow the lead teacher to focus on presenting the curriculum to the students. It is highly recommended to review the lesson to be presented ahead of time in order to provide an added benefit to helping perform a successful lesson.

    The expectation is to assist the lead instructor in delivering the provided curriculum as provided to the best of you ability and engage the students in a guided learning environment.

    Successful performance at this position will lead to the possibility of a promotion to lead instructor based on fulfilling the requirements necessary to fill that position.
