Ms. Jane, Lead TeacherMs. Jane is a Mechanical Engineer, with a Master’s degree from MIT. She has held Engineering positions both here and abroad, and has experience in a number of industries: mass transit, power, telecoms, and high tech materials. At the moment she is developing devices that harness energy from the ocean waves. She focuses on the creative side of Engineering and Technology. Her interest in teaching arises from helping her own daughter, a bright dyslexic, find out “how things work.”
Ms. Ashley, Lead TeacherMs. Ashley has worked with kids for most of her life. She grew up working in her mother’s family owned daycare and preschool. She loves doing science projects and hands-on activities with kids. She is currently studying Biology at Riverside City College and plans to transfer to UC San Diego next year. She believes that if we keep learning fun and exciting for kids it can help create a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
Ms. Hanna, Lead TeacherMs. Hanna's lifetime goal is to gain a teaching degree to one day teach computer programming on a high school level. She loves working with children to help them expand their minds in all aspects of their life. She has been working with children for the last 8 years. After graduating high school she worked as an Assistant Teacher at an in home preschool. Her most recent work experience was as an Educator for an after school enrichment program. She loves to attend comic conventions, where she can embrace her inner child by dressing up as her favorite comic book and movie characters. In her free time she enjoys teaching herself computer programming, building websites and games, and watching Star Wars. Ms. Eileen, Lead TeacherMs. Eileen is currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Riverside studying Mechanical Engineering. Ms. Eileen is a member of the Society of Women Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and hopes to use these affiliations to help combat the gender and minority gap in the workplace. She is on her way to becoming a member of the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps and hopes to travel the world as a Navy Seabee post-graduation. She has mentored elementary school students for the past 5 years, teaching them the greatness of STEM through the VEX IQ and First Lego League platforms. She hopes to become an educator for kids after her time working in the industry to help students gain a better understanding of what engineering in the real world is like.
Mr. Brian, Lead TeacherMr. Brain has always loved working with children. His most recent experience was after-school chess instruction for over a year. Brian is currently enrolled at MSJC working towards his degree. After graduation he plans to pursue his aviation license and improve his skills as a chess player. In his spare time he can be found designing and tinkering on projects in his garage or at the local comic store leading a team of table top gamers called Team Mech Killers.
Mr. Rem, Lead TeacherMr. Rem is currently a nursing student who wants to specialize in Family Nursing at Cal State San Marcos. For two summers during college, he assisted and taught various classes at summer camps around California ranging from Minecraft all the way to Video Game Design. In his spare time, he writes/produces music and DJs. He believes that we as teachers need to empower children to become the creators of the future!
Mr. James, Lead TeacherMr. James is currently in pursuit of his degree with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. His goal is to teach in a special education classroom at a local elementary or middle school after completing his program of study.
As a huge Star Wars fan, Mr. James has collected and read just about every Star Wars novel, and is eagerly anticipating the upcoming slate of new movies that will continue the saga. Mr. James' four-year-old daughter, who is definitely a Vader girl, and himself were proudly counted among the “nerds” waiting in line for the premieres of Episode VII and Rogue One. They are excited to have their tickets to attend the next Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, FL in April.

Ms. Shannon, Lead TeacherMs. Shannon started teaching during junior high by becoming a member of the Hands on Science team. In high school, Ms. Shannon was a member of the Future Teachers of America. She graduated from Riverside Community College with an Associates of Science and Arts before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Cal State San Bernardino. She minored in Child Development which helped her become the amazing mother she is today. Ms. Shannon has eight years of experience homeschooling. She has been an active volunteer in her daughter’s extracurricular programs: Awana Director, Upward Soccer Coach, and most currently a Small Group Leader for a group of eighth grade girls. Hiking, reading, crafting, and gaming are among her hobbies. Ms. Shannon believes that the world is a classroom and
the best lessons are the fun ones.
Ms. Melissa, Assistant TeacherMs. Melissa has worked with kids for as long as she can remember. She has been in the 4-H program since she was 5 years old. Through the 4-H program she taught kids leadership skills, how to work as a team, responsibly, respect, and how to have fun in a safe environment. "I love the look on a child's face when he/she gets it right after many attempts. They are so excited, and can't wait to tell everyone." There is no limit to a child's creativity. Kids are our future, and we need to invest in them. Ms. Melissa is working on her Associate Degree at Saddleback College.
Mr. Sean, Assistant TeacherMr. Sean is a resident of Murrieta but originally from Orange County. He has been very active in children's lives in the community since he graduated from Murrieta Valley High in 2007. Mr. Sean has been a high school and youth football coach in Murrieta and Temecula for the last 8 years and has been working as a Special Ed Aide in the Murrieta School District for nearly five years. Mr. Sean truly believes that kids are the key to a bright and successful world. When he isn't working or coaching, he is probably watching some kind of sports event or hanging out with his dog. Mr. Sean is hoping to become a history teacher sometime in the future. He believes that Paul Revere said it best: "We have it in our power to begin the world over again."
