Quality Education for Greater Bakersfield
Inspiring & Educating Young Minds
Youth of Destiny Learning Center started in November 2014 to provide quality educational programs for the Greater Bakersfield community. In December 2014, we purchased Engineering for Kids South Kern territory to inspire children 4 – 14 yrs old in STEM related fields such as Robotics, Coding, and hands-on Engineering activities. On April 1, 2015 we partnered with the Black Chamber of Commerce to present our First Free Demonstration Workshop to the community of Bakersfield and it was a success! From June to July 2015, we held our first Summer Camp at The East Hills Mall where students enjoyed our hands-on camp. In August 2015, we held our First Robotics Competition which was sponsored by the Black Chamber of Commerce and where Chevron presented us a $2,500 check to provide Free STEM classes to low-income students. Our instructors are pursuing or have degrees in the Engineering field and love to share their knowledge with our students.
Over the past several years, we have continued to partnered with organization and schools such as: University of LaVerne Bakersfield, Bakersfield City School District, McFarland School District, CAPK (Friendship House and Shafter Center), local Charter Schools, and Valley PBS to present our fun and engaging hands-on STEM activities to our community. On March 1, 2020 we moved into our Engineering for Kids Center located at 5133 Ming Avenue. We provide classes and camps programs along with workshops. Our future goal is to open another location on the Northwest side of Bakersfield.
